ARBITRATION is the submission of a dispute to one or more impartial persons for a final and binding decision, known as an “award.” Awards are binding on the parties. MEDIATION, on the other hand, is a process by which an impartial third party (the “mediator”) facilitates communication and negotiation for the purpose of prompting voluntary settlement by the parties.
Teresa Del Valle has practiced law in Texas for over 15 years and has represented both defendants and plaintiffs in a wide variety of cases. Her mediation practice includes mediations referred by court-appointment and includes volunteer mediations for the Harris County Dispute Resolution Center. Ms. Del Valle is a Credentialed Mediator by the Texas Mediator Credentialing Association. She is a Qualified Mediator under Texas Civil Practices & Remedies Code Section 154.052(a).

It is our goal to make the arbitration process as equitable, expedient, and pleasant, as possible. Pre-final hearing disputes are resolved by teleconference hearings.

The mediation process is an effective way for parties to control the outcome of their dispute. Teresa Del Valle is a hard-working mediator who enjoys seeing litigants resolve their disputes by agreement. It is our goal to make the mediation experience, as comfortable and pleasant, as possible. We provide free parking, refreshments, and pastries for all mediations. Our full-day mediations include a catered lunch.
